Happy New Year from all of us here at Hoverfly!
This week's tip is a reminder to HoverflyGPS users: always let your HoverflyGPS-equipped aircraft acquire a GPS lock before taking off.
Acquiring a GPS lock is like a high-speed guessing game as the antenna tries to determine its location (the answer) by comparing guesses against the available satellite information (the clues). If the antenna is in-flight, the answer is changing with every guess - and that makes it extremely difficult for the antenna to arrive at the correct answer. Meanwhile, any features that rely on this guess being correct are likely to react erratically and may cause a crash.
